Tornado Spectral Systems Inc. (“Tornado”), a Canadian designer and manufacturer of innovative process Raman spectroscopy instruments used for applications in bioprocessing, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, has been sold to Bruker Corporation (Nasdaq: BRKR) (“Bruker”), a developer, manufacturer and distributor of high-performance scientific instruments and analytical and diagnostic solutions.
With over a decade of experience, Tornado’s innovative, patented and industry-proven Raman solutions will enhance Bruker’s biopharma Process Analytical Technology (“PAT”) portfolio.
Tornado’s propriety Raman spectroscopy instruments utilize High Throughput Virtual Slit (HTVS™) technology, which provides unequivocal photon power to tackle the most difficult Raman measurements enabling greater customer success. The Company’s portfolio of Raman analyzers offers more accurate chemical identification and quantification in mixtures and at low concentrations compared to traditional process Raman spectrometers. Tornado’s product line also includes rugged, high-performance Raman probes for immersion, flow cell, non-contact and large-spot measurements, each optimized for different process environments.
