Tilsatec North America LLC (“TNA”), the exclusive distributor of Tilsatec-branded High Performance Cut Protection Gloves in the United States, has been sold to Tilsatec Limited (“Tilsatec”), part of The DMC Group, a portfolio company of Lion Capital.

TNA has been the brand and technology partner of Tilsatec for over a decade, distributing products made from Tilsatec’s Rhino Yarn® Technology across North America. TNA has established itself as one of the largest cut resistant hand protection partners to the USA automotive industry, as well as leading positions in other industrial sectors including pulp and paper, construction, and oil and gas.

Tilsatec® is a manufacturer with a long history in developing technical yarns and materials for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Manufactured using its own proprietary cut resistant yarn (Rhino Yarn®), Tilsatec delivers high performance hand, arm, and body protection solutions designed for protection, value, and user acceptance across many industrial sectors.

DMC Group is a platform of complementary, market leading, needlecraft brands. The group owns and operates four iconic needlecrafts brands: DMC (global leader in embroidery threads with a 275-year heritage, the undisputed reference brand); Wool And The Gang (digital-first and contemporary knitting kits); Sirdar (over 125 year British heritage in knitting yarns); and Rowan (premium design-led British yarn brand with a longstanding heritage in the UK and US). DMC Group is a portfolio company of Lion Capital, a UK-based private equity firm focused on the consumer sector.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
