Omni-ID was sold to HID Global, a subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY

Omni-ID Corporation, a global manufacturer and provider of RFID tags and industrial IoT hardware devices for passive and active tagging, tracking, monitoring and alerting applications, has been sold to HID Global Corporation, a worldwide leader in trusted identity solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2007, Omni-ID is a US-registered company with operational HQ in Farnham, Surrey, UK and manufacturing operations in Qingdao, China. Omni-ID manufactures industrial RFID tags and IIoT devices (based on BLE and LoRaWAN technologies) for a wide range of tagging, tracking, monitoring and alerting applications in IT asset management, oil & gas environments, tool and rental equipment tracking, returnable transport items (RTI), yard management as well as the manufacturing and logistics sectors.

HID Global, based in Austin, TX, United States, provides secure identity solutions including asset control, identity management, and asset tracking for governments, educational institutions, hospitals, financial institutions, and industrial businesses. HID Global operates as a brand of Assa Abloy AB, a global leader in access solutions in areas such as efficient door openings, trusted identities and entrance automation. The Group operates worldwide with 49,000 employees and sales of $10.6 billion.
