Environics, a portfolio company of Verso Capital, has been sold to Bertin Technologies

Environics Oy (“Environics”) has been sold to Bertin Technologies. This transaction will result in the creation of a leading European player of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) detection, identification, and monitoring equipment and systems.

Headquartered in Mikkeli, Finland, Environics develops CBRN detection and integrated solutions, ranging from personal safety to national security. Environics provides innovative solutions for different safeguarding organisations in 50 countries, from civil defence and homeland security to the military. Environics is backed by Verso Capital, a Helsinki-based private equity investor.

Bertin Technologies, headquartered in France, is a scientific instrumentation manufacturer that designs and manufactures measurement, observation, and detection systems for instruments and critical applications. Since its spinoff in April 2012, Bertin Technologies is backed by FCDE, a Paris-based private equity investor.

The combination of Environics and Bertin Technologies will allow authorities, platforms manufacturers, critical industries, and first responders to have access to a full portfolio of equipment and integrated solutions to counter rising CBRN threats. The transaction also creates a unique sovereign capability to develop and manufacture high-end solutions for crisis management in Europe.

The transaction is subject to customer regulatory approvals. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
